John Robbins has nearly 40 years of experience in intellectual property and patent practice. Early in his career, he spent six years residing in Japan, where he worked with a patent firm in Osaka. Beginning in 1987, Mr. Robbins practiced with U.S. patent law firms in Washington, D.C., and was admitted to the U.S. Patent Bar in 1991.
He has extensive experience in patent application drafting and prosecution, having prepared and successfully prosecuted more than 400 patent applications to issuance. His broad technical background includes software and computer-implemented inventions, particularly those related to vehicular systems and vehicle communications. He also has significant experience with industrial technologies and semiconductor manufacturing processes, including packaging and inspection systems, as well as mechanical technologies such as bicycle components.
In addition, Mr. Robbins has worked extensively with medical devices, robotics, and micro-motor technologies. His experience in biological and chemical technologies includes plant-derived genomics processing methods, biomaterial extraction and refinement systems, electrophoresis-related technologies, and microsphere technologies.
Mr. Robbins has primarily represented American and Japanese corporate clients. In addition to being a native English speaker, he is conversationally proficient in Japanese.
